Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally When considering international organizations that advocate for early childhood education and the well-being of children worldwide, I chose three communities of practice that appealed to my personal and professional interests: KidsRights, Girls on the Run International, and the Forest Kindergarten Association.   All three organizations are appealing for different reasons and would require various levels of work and required expertise to partner with.   The following explores each organization’s mission and possible job opportunities within the group. Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: National/Federal Level When considering national and federal organizations that appeal to my professional interests, a few came to mind to explore: HighScope Research Foundation, Zero to Three, and the Center on the Developing Child.   Each organization shares my personal and professional visions and interests in the education of young children.   I listed them in order of relevancy and likelihood of obtaining employment with each organization.   Researching this week once again has broadened my horizons in considering the possibilities of efforts that can be made with each community of practice.   The following explores the three areas of interest regarding philosophy and future employment opportunities.                               Exploring Roles in the EC Community: Local and State Levels Considering professional organizations that appeal to my personal desires for a community of practice came quite easily to me.   Currently, my family is in the process of relocating a month after completing my master’s degree and I am making these conscious decisions about my real professional life now.   The top three areas of interest that I have sought employment through and am anxiously waiting to hear back from are diverse, yet all are aligned with my personal philosophies and practices.   With an emphasis on how adults learn as my graduate focus, I have chosen positions that include instructing early childhood courses at a local community college, a regional quality consultant, and an area early childhood specialist (0-3 yrs). ...
